WHAT IS OUR FOCUS?
A Resource Center for the culturally diverse ethnic population where we can develop a networking system to help build and empower strong families. We believe that parent education and support play a crucial part in the prevention of family violence so we provide various resources to empower families and individuals.
The Center provides information/Referral and Resources to families and professionals alike via telephone and or email correspondence. Staying connected with the community and other service providers is crucial to our success and we refer families to appropriate agencies
COMMUNITY OUTREACH DINNER:
A "free community spaghetti outreach dinner" is served on the 4th Sunday of each month and "love care bags" which includes non-perishable food items are distributed to those attending on a first come-first served basis. Community Resources are available and guest speakers are in attendance to provide information about various resources.
YOUTH MENTORING:
The "Kidz Korner" for children of all ages to hang out is a popular place! The Kidz Korner offers video games, movies, arts and crafts and a variety of books and board games to keep them occupied during their stay at the Center. The youth coordinator is available to meet one on one with any child who just wants to talk. PARENT-GRANDPARENT SUPPORT GROUP:
We provide a Parent Support group with professionals from community resources to facilitate the support group meeting. The group meets once a month and dinner is provided.
OUR GOAL:
- to increase community awareness and aid those less fortunate
- to feed those who are hungry and provide non-perishable food items
- to provide community resources and help fill the gap during these difficult economic times
